For sale is a super rare example of Chris Poor of Arms and Armor fame. This is a very early example made for Museum Replicas Limited in the later 80s. Arms and Armor had this item available for many years, but as I can see no longer does. An excellent copy of a lovely dragon style war hammer located in the Doges' palace in Venice. It's attributed to being captured in the late 1300s, but I'm inclined to believe by the style and workmanship it is probably 100 years later, but that is just my opinion.
Made with 1020 steel and maple shaft, it is a very lovely and unique weapon. 6" wide and 6 5/8" tall handle is 15 1/4". 3 lbs 7 oz, but it handles well despite the heft. Condition is excellent. Get it while you can. I have a couple more rare haft weapons coming up in the next couple days, but this one is the rarest.
