Hanwei Jacobite Backsword - Antiqued and Modified
This listing is marked SOLD and is no longer available

Hello,

I have decided to let reality win and accede to the fact that I'm just not going to be wearing this sword to any Games or other Celtic events, because when I go it's primarily as a harper and while I'll be in Jacobite rig, I won't be wearing a sword, or any blade other than one of my dirks and a sgian achlais.

So, this is for sale. It started life as one of Hanwei's antiqued Scottish backsword, but then I took it apart, cleaned off most of the "antiquing" gunk, float-tested the silly fleece basket liner, did away with the fringe-y bit, and installed a bison-hide finger loop because I like them.

Also I dyed the scabbard black because the rest of the leather I intended to wear it with is black.

Here's to show the same grip is real rayskin instead of that plastic junk:

And a couple of what it looks like in the hand; note the bison strap:

Anyway, there it is. I'm going to ask $300 + shipping but I'll be a little bit reasonable; after all - I'm selling it to avoid finding a place for it on my wall, and I'm just going to take whatever money I get for it and probably buy another dirk. Maybe one of Tod's.

Or offer me a trade for something interesting. And short. Not too short.

Cheers.

Bump for price reduction: $275 or an interesting trade.

Okay. $250 and I'll pay shipping in the CONUS.
I have a rapier to pay for.
