Robert Moc Rus Viking age Sword, words by Robert Moc on his site of this sword "dated to the 11th century. The sword form corresponds to the type commonly used in Scandinavia and Britain around the year 1000AD. Interesting is the decoration, which is a mixture of Slavic and nomadic influences, but is created by the technique usual in Scandinavia. The blade is made of welded steel in a groove with a inlayed bronze cross. The guard and pommel are iron, hollow decorated with silver, copper and bronze. The surface is blued in fire. The handle is wooden covered with snake skin. The wooden sheath is lined with wool, covered with calf leather and completed with a bronze chape according to the findings from the surroundings of Kharkov.
