It is time to sell my lovely Amsterdam type Walloon sword. These swords are rarely found in such good condition. The grip is original and quite delicate, but there is very little corrosion or deterioration on the rest of the piece. The joint line of the wrought iron tang to the steel blade is clearly visible. This is something that I like to see and is a good indication of quality and authenticity. The blade is inscribed SAHAGUM on both sides followed by the Passau wolf. The piercing on the guard is well executed and very attractive IMO.
Asking $3400 USD which based on my searching appears to be a good chunk below market for these blades in this condition. Feel free to make reasonable offers.
I'm posting this here first. I really appreciate the good people here on this forum and I hope to find a new home for this before turning elsewhere.
