1060 hand forged blade with significant distal taper.
-Weight is 2.8 lbs but feels much lighter because of its distal taper.
-Very slightly hollow ground cross section and is stiff for how nimble it feels.
-Slim pommel and guard; the material is definitely concentrated in the blade more than the hilt.
-You may want to fine up this edge. Basically a service edge as it is.
-The peen is actually partly forge welded into the pommel. Incredibly solid hilt construction.
Grips are epoxy'd with a system of press blanks instead of twine, to retain the sharp angular cross section you see (fantastic edge alignment aid!).
They have a wonderful antiqued burgundy stain.
3 1/2" long poplar grip.
6" long entire hilt assembly.
30" long blade.
2 13/16" wide at base,
5 1/8" POB.
-Comes with the poplar scabbard shown. NOT the cheap "box" type, it is hand chiseled to match the blade's cross section all the way down.
-Has a separately attached throat to reinforce the vulnerable end with horizontal grain alignment.
-Rough finished, ready for you to attach a leather facing.
-The fit is perfect, it can be shaken upside down and won't fall out, and snaps in positively in the last few inches but draws with ease.
