| 15th C horn-handled bauernwehr. Early to mid 15thC bauernwehr with byknife, typical of hunters and other middle class civilians. The main knife has a clipped point with false back edge and steel furniture on the handle and a nagel that indicates these knives as having an alternative function as a weapon when brawling. The small byknife is for general tasks and eating. And the scabbard has a bronze chape. |
