Up for either sale or trade is a US Civil War Era Cavalry sabre. [br]The sword itself is in very good condition, however the maker marks have been sanded off, leaving only a rack number on the knuckle bow, and a part of a "U" for US. There Is the inspection marking for John Hannis/Harris on the pommel, however I don't know if this can be verified as authentic. According to well read and much more experienced forum member, it is most likely an import with a lame JH marking to try and make it an Ames. [br][br]The sword is completely tight, and there is no movement what so ever. The blade is sharp from the last third up.[br][br]
Asking 350 plus shipping, however if you feel this price is too high please make me an offer, or PM me with a more appropriate price. As for trades, I'd like offers for different antique swords, especially American civil war swords. [br][br][br][br]
Pictures and a review of the sword, as well as a discussion on its authenticity can be found here. [br][br]https://sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/52669/m1860-cavalry-sabre[br][br]
