Offered here is a very rare XVII-XVIIIth cent broadsword of the Spanish type said ‘’Boca de caballo’’. Much probably for cavalry officer.
Copper and brass wire wrapped grip, iron mountings with engraved floral patterns; the engravings on the blade have unfortunately been progressively erased by time and you can see traces of Sun and Moon + other patterns.
Double fullered lenticular blade, flexible (a bit whippy) but at the same time sharp.
Except for the expected wear of a 300 year-old piece, no rust, broken or loose fittings.
Overall: 42''/107cm
Blade: 36''/91cm
Price: 1400$USD shipped anywhere North America. Overseas buyers please contact me before.
