To help fund a new project, I am selling two tulwars which I have owned for over thirty years. The first is a curved shamshir style tulwar, with gold bidaree work over the steel hilt. About 40 % of the bidaree work remains. The highly curved blade is of wootz steel, which is easily visible but could use a refreshing. It is not pitted. The blade bears, what I have been told, the cartouche of the Delhi Arsenal. It comes with a black leather over wood scabbard, which could do with some restoration. The entire kit shows considerable age. Offered for $ 175. plus shipping to CONUS.
The second offering is a straight bladed tulwar with silver bidaree work all over the hilt. This has been nicely preserved and is quite attractive. The single-edged blade has a false edge running one third of the other side. The blade is not pitted but has some surface black corrosion on the front edge. It comes with a rather worn, suede scabbard which could use some TLC. Because of the nice bidaree work, I am selling this one for $ 250. plus shipping to CONUS. Payment by Pay Pal, cheque or M.O.
I should have photos by this Sunday as they are out for developing and transfer to a disc.
Please reply by PM. Thank you.
