I am selling my very rare, Prussian Cavalry Officer's Sabre, pattern c.1797 type II, an extremely rare pattern of Prussian sword seldom seen for sale. This sword may perhaps have been in use during the Fourth Coalition of Prussia, Britain and Russia against Napoleon's Imperial French Army between October 1806 to July 1807.
33 inch long slightly curved blade, having a single wide fuller and a false edge running along the blade for the final 8 inches.
Blueing and gilt to first half of the blade, showing a martial trophy of arms and floral swags, in excellent condition.
Much higher decoration to ornate brass hilt (cartouches of Oak leaves?) showing this to be an officer's sword. Very nice lion head pommel.
Price: GBP £895+pp
