Selling a now increasingly rare Swiss cavalry officer sword model 1867.
Used condition: the shagreen grip is missing off a good part and you can see the wood beneath it although it looks like nice glossy leather.
The Swiss coat of arms in the bowl handguard has deteriorated with time and use and the bowl guard has some movement. The blade also shows sign of wear however no cracks or nicks to report. Interestingly this blade is an older clipped tip style marked with the Wester & Co trademark with the Swiss logo/cross.
The scabbard is in ok condition, it is missing the throat screw but keeps the sword well in place.
Overall lenght : 41.5’’ / 105cm
Sword lenght : 39’’ / 100cm
Blade lenght : 33’’/ 84cm
