Hello everyone...

In my unquenching thirst for weaponry I have decided to make a firm and resolute collection theme (yeah right...)

The period that has and will remain to capture all my interest is that of the Migration/Viking/Early Medieval periods. before Del Tin swords dominated my collection, but due to an unforseen and costly repair of my car that hit me at a bad time I had to sell off those pieces. Right now my collection consists of an Albion Squire Line Viking, a Paul Chen Godfred sword, and I have a ArmArt Budget Knightly sword that was fully finished by John Lundemo on the way here. Sometime soon my Scott Byler Viking longsax should also be finished. The Budget Knightly isn't a strict viking piece, but is influenced by Viking predecessors.

The maker can be almost anyone as long as the sword is decent quality functional blade. I know there is a Stamford available in the classifieds but I am not interested in that one. There really aren't any viking swords that I do not like except for overly ornate ones with extreme examples of inlays.

Well, it sounds like you'll need a Hersir, Berserkr, Jarl, Huscarl, Gaddhjalt, Gotland, maybe a Clontarf or Vinland. As well as the Norman, the Reeve, and Bayeaux. Possibly a Hospitaller or Ritter! Save now. You've got alot of work ahead of you!! :lol: :lol: :wtf:

Actually, to give my collection variety I am interested in getting swords from different makers. I love the NextGen Vinlad sword but the $700 with shipping is a bit much for me to afford all at once right now. I do miss my Migration D hilt and regret selling it, especially since I had a very nice custom scabbard for it. A next gen blade, an albion mark blade, and a squire line blade would be enough variety before I move on to other makers.

usually people suggest swords from places or makers I forgot to even check myself so that's why I am posting.

I'm curious why? It seems just about perfect in many ways.

Though with a sick child and some unexpected expenses, I'm no longer in the race to buy it myself.

I have a Del Tin Dark Ages sword that I have been artificially "aging" (adding a patina to the blade and "greening" the bronze) that I might be interested in letting go of.

Hi Lloyd.

It's an interesting choice, but I used to own one of these swords. Very nice and fairly light. Actually, if it could narrow it down I am a bit more interested in getting a "tea cozy" style pommel. One like that on the Del Tin 2102 is very nice. I also like the 2105. I no longer own any Del Tin swords and I would like to get one again, it's just that I have already owned the 2070 and would like to focus on another style.
