Hi,

I am on the lookout for an original French "briquet" style infantry sword. Scabbard a plus.

Ebay has a few. However, many of these are in bad condition and/or terribly overpriced (especially for such a sword that was produced in such numbers).

Thanks for any and all leads! Short of a briquet (no pun intended) I would also look for a longer French cavalry sabre of a similar time period (Napoleanic). This item is for someone's Christmas gift.
