For sale a original 18th century hanger or cutlass

Brass mounting with nice clamshell on the outboard side, integral to the guard. Note the grip in curved upward which is unusual. For examples of similar hilts, see hangers 24.S and 25.S in Neumann's Swords and Blades of the American Revolution.

Overall lenght is 29 3/4" (75 cm)

Condition is very good to excellent, but for two small cracks in the antler grip. Very minor pitting in the gutter. Everything very thight.
