For sale is a beautifully rustic Maciejowski Falchion / Machete.
It is made from 1065 high carbon steel 50 HRC tempered to dark blue.
Handle is of tough Tasman oak, and is of octagonal profile. Wood has been liberally treated with natural raw linseed oil.
Blade had a rustic finish applied at my request (see photos) to replicate the feel of a medieval tool that doubles as a weapon.
Edge applied is suitable to the tasks it would be most often used for (cutting foliage etc). On sharp side of blade near grip is a small cut out to allow for more dexterous use on finer tasks (cutting vegetables, slicing meat).
Blade has distal taper, and thins towards the tip, giving the machete a very lively feeling.
Sword was constructed by a swordsmith who is a friend, who works privately.
Any questions let me know, am happy to answer.
