Hi All,
Following on from my imaginatively titled first post, here are a few more things for sale:
Bearded Axe
This is an offering by GDFB. I have sharpened the edge a little (it could still do with some honing to be properly sharp), and have removed a bit of the blackening that they tend to apply to their axe heads. I originally ordered this axe along with their Francisca axe. The Francisca axe was much larger than I was expecting, so I removed the head, intending to re-haft it. This never happened, so I’m offering the spare Francisca head along with the bearded axe for free. This has also been sharpened and had the blackening removed.
Price for both: £35 +p&p
Cold Steel Rifleman’s Hawk
A good solid tomahawk from Cold Steel. I removed their factory black coating and re-blued using Caseys Cold Blueing solution. I also re-stained the haft a darker colour.
Asking £20 + p&p
Hanwei William Marshall sword (forged blade – not Damascus)
I re-wrapped the grip with black chamois and 3 cord risers. The scabbard has a couple of scuffs on it, but apart from that everything is as new. A bit sad to see this go as this was my first venture into western-styled swords. A nice, sharp sword with an interesting hollow-ground cross section.
Asking £150 + p&p
Zatoichi sword
Ancient Warrior Zatoichi sword. A through-hardened high carbon steel blade with ground hamon (actually looks pretty nice). Natural wood finish, and a very snug fit to the scabbard. Comes with a presentation box if you want it, although this would bump up the price of postage quite a bit as it’s a heavy bugger!
Asking £45 +p&p
GDFB Medieval Practical knife and leather scabbard
A nice early rough-forged knife complete with a soft-leather scabbard. A little bit fancier than some due to the twisted grip.
Asking £10 + p&p
Hanwei Practical Tai Chi sword – 28” blade
High carbon steel blade with a flattened-diamond cross section. Sharp blade which hasn’t been used for cutting – just for display.
This is the version with the polymer grip and scabbard. The white cord belt-loop has somehow become discoloured at one end. This seems to be a feature on these swords – don’t know why as the fittings are stainless steel!
Asking £40 + p&p
