I'm looking for a basic mid to late 15th cent style knife that could be used as a general utility knife, yet have some aesthetic appeal. I like some of the knives I've seen from Windlass, until I read the reviews here! I loved some of the others I've seen here, until I realized they were custom pieces and, well.... I guess I have better taste than my wallet can afford! I am partial to ballock knives.
Ideally it would be a piece that would be appropriate for a basic Elizabethan footsoldier or junior officer/NCO in the Trained Bands. Under $100 would be incredible, but can do up to $150 or higher depending on the piece.
Please talk to me and help me buy my welcome home from Iraq present to myself! :)
