I need room (and a little money) for some upcoming projects, and have decided to move a few swords to make way. I am offering the swords below, all with FREE SHIPPING to CONUS!
1. Customized Del Tin 5140 - River Thames Hand and a Half Sword: I worked on this sword a few weeks back; I reformed the grip to a waisted shape, added risers, wrapped the grip in 2oz oxblood leather, made a wood core (poplar) scabbard, added decor, wrapped the scabbard in 2oz leather, and added an integral sword baldric.
This sword has had an antique patina (bluing) added, which will polish out if you wish. This sword has never been sharpened.
Issues: Nothing serious, but I need to tell you everything in the spirit of honesty. There are some very minor casting flaws are visible in some areas. When I put on the new grip, the adhesive I used seemed to take some of the ring out of the sword, but its still just as solid as the day it was forged. This blade is true with no chips, deep scratches, cracks, or anything else.
Date Manufactured: Abt 1994
Blade Material: German Krupp Steel
Overall length: 47.25"
Blade Length: 36.75"
Tang: Full tang, peened through pommel
Weight: 3 lbs
Price: $325 USD Shipped CONUS
2. Customized Del Tin 5156 Bastard Sword: Got this sword a couple weeks ago. I was orignally planning on doing a scabbard/belt for it, but ended up committing resources to other projects. Unlike the standard 5156, this sword has a scent stopper pommel rather than a wheel.
This is a very powerful sword in rare form. Nice wide cutting blade, dual 7/8 fullers, with a semi-spatulate tip. The sword was sharpened to a bevel by its prevous owner, which would have to be redone at some point for a proper edge. However, it is somewhat sharp as it, so use care in handling.
I reformed the grip to a waisted shape, added risers, wrapped the grip in oxblood leather. The hardware has a bit of natural patina/greying to it, I did not bother to clean it other than oiling it.
Issues: Nothing serious. The guard appears to have some minor machining marks on it, which can be sanded out. The blade needs to be properly refinished, there are minor signs of use (light scratching, handling marks). The blade is true with no chips, cracks, or other damage.
Date Manufactured: Abt 1997
Blade Material: German Krupp Steel
Overall length: 44.00"
Blade Length: 34.00"
Tang: Full tang, peened through pommel
Weight: 3.30 lbs
Price: $225 USD Shipped CONUS
3. Hanwei Practical Viking Sword: If you've seen one, you've seen them all. This sword is solid, but does show signs of use. Antique patina was added and a simulated pattern weld applied to the central fuller.
It's been regripped with black 2oz leather over cord with a spiral riser. The scabbard has had alot of the finish removed, but its still 100% intact. Additionally, it comes with a ringed frog for mounting to a clipped sword belt.
Perfect for a re-enactment beater or a project blade.
Price: $65.00 Shipped CONUS
I prefer Paypal for payment (NO FEE). If you are interested in any of the above swords, PM me here or write me at jesarge@gmail.com.
I meant to add (but it would not let me edit the listing) on the Del Tin 5140 (the first sword):
The scabbard turned out decent. The overlap I did on the back is crooked. The scabbard fits the sword well, but its a little looser than it should be. It was my first attempt at doing a wood core, so view it as such. It's no CF scabbard, but its solid as a rock and eons beyond what you would get with a Windlass or Paul Chen!
Nice custom work. PM sent. Thanks................
Terry
