I suspect that nobody here even has one, but I thought I'd cast a line out and see if I got a nibble.
A little background: Johann Schmidberger is an Austrian blacksmith who used to market some of his wares through Museum Replicas back in the 80's and early 90's. He is most known for his "Austrian Masterpiece", a large 4' long warsword with a scent-stopper style pommel, long quillons, and hand lathe turned hardwood grip. I already have one of these, so I'm not looking for that.
However, I *am* very interested in locating one of his katzbalgers. It was based on this original from Muller's "European Cut and Thrust Weapons" (see attached pic)
I'd also be interested in the European Hand and a Half Sword (the one with the octagonal pommel, diamond cross section quillons, and wire wrapped grip) and Landsknecht Two Handed Katzbalger.
There were a couple other swords as well, though I'm not looking for those so much. I wouldn't mind some of the strongboxes or armours that he made, but I don't think I could afford to pay a fair price, alas...
Realize that probably no one even has one, and if they do, they most likely have enough sense to not part with it! But I have to ask, at least. On the off chance there is anybody interested, please PM me. Thanks!
