My Journal of the Arms and Armour Society (JAAS) of London holdings include:
The hardback reprint (1970) of Volume I Numbers 1-12 (March 1953 December 1955)
All other issues listed are in the conventional JAAS paperback* format**:
Volume Numbers Years
I 1 9*, 10 -12 1953-1955
* 1 9 are 1960 and 1961 reprints
II Index and Numbers 1 12 1956-1958
and List of Members Dec. 1958
III Index and Numbers 1 - 12 1959-1961
IV Index and Numbers 1 - 12 1962-1964
V Index and Numbers 1 12 1965- 1967
VI Index and Numbers 1 12 1968-1970
VII Index and Numbers 1 12 1971-1973
VIII Index and Numbers 1 6 1974-1976
Starting with this volume
there are only 6 issues each year.
IX Numbers 1 6 1977-1979
X Number 1 only June 1980
XVIII Number 2 only Sept. 2004
(plus 18 duplicate issues that you could always sell)
**Some are stamped with the name of Thomas T. Hoopes presumably the T. T. Hoopes who was curator of arms and armour at the St. Louis Museum of Art.
**Some single journals cover two issues, so a year with 12 numbers might have fewer than 12 separate journals. Example, the single journal Vol. VII, September December 1972, contains both Numbers 7 and 8.
Im asking $430 for the set (price includes packing/insurance/shipping in the lower 48). Thats about $5 per issue (excluding the hardback book and the duplicates). I can work with you to stretch payments over 2 to 3 months.
Thanks!
- David
p.s. If you have Christmas stockings (or bookcases) to fill, I still have the cased Churburg set, the 1939 Wisby original, and a few other books available. Please see earlier posts or ask me for details.
