Selling a custom made Mineral Mountain Hatchet Works long sax, seax. It is based off a drawing from Osprey's Men at Arms series, #129 Rome's Enemies, Germans and Dacians. The long sax was made several years ago, but I have never used it. Original edge. The piece is full profile tang with naval brass butt and bolster plates, and really nice sambar stag grips. The blade is 5160 and 1/4 inch thick. The edge is razor sharp with a wicked point. Dimensions: OAL 24 inches, blade is 18 x 2.5 inches. This is a stout, heavy piece. (You'll know it when you swing it!) I have several pieces from MMHW, and really don't want to part with this one, but space and interest are winning out. To have this made now would be about $750-$800 from the maker (if you could find the stag grips!). Comes with a custom made HEAVY leather sheath (10-12 oz). Asking $450.00. Free shipping within the Continental US.
Ok, let's move this along. I need the space, and don't want to pack this thing up for storage. So, I am dropping the price to $425.00 and of course, free shipping within the Contentinal US. This is a one of a kind piece. It is a HEAVY cleaver with a wicked point for thrusts as well. Perfect for those up close and personal shield wall bashes...
I hate to do this, but will drop the price one more time in an effort to move the piece.
Price is now 395.00 with shipping included within the Continental US
I am removing this piece from the marketplace as I cannot in good conscience lower the price any further. If anyone is interested in this piece, you may contact me directly at rdeancona1@yahoo.com for further information or purchase.
