I have two of these swords. I had intended to make one into a compound-hilted Swiss saber, but my plans have changed. I'm putting up the one, shown above, for sale.
Southern Germany or Switzerland — Circa 1490-1530
This large Swiss saber has a single-edged slightly curved blade, flared rectangular quillons, writhen pommel, and a large shell guard for added hand protection. Black leather two-handed grip and burnished steel fittings complete the hilt.
Weight: 3 pounds 7 ounces
Overall length: 45 1/2 inches
Blade length: 36 1/2 inches
False edge length: 5 1/2 inches
Blade Width: 1 5/8 inches
Grip length: 7 1/4 inches

Point of Balance: 6 1/4 inches from guard
