First, the obligatory statement - I am a hobbyist knifemaker, NOT a professional!
Putting up for sale this stiletto that I made 3 years ago.
Short description:
Guard and pommel filed out of 1018 steel and blackened.
Blade is 5" long and square in cross section, 3/16" at the base, with a decorative ball section filed near the guard. I made it out of 1084, quenched in oil using my improved homemade can forge, and tempered to what should be around low 50s hardness, softer than normal knife blade to make it less brittle. It is really needle pointed!
Handle micarta core, wrapped in black laquered ray skin.
Wood core scabbard, leather covered, blackened mild steel fittings.
The throat is square, then transitions to diamond to follow blade shape.
Design of the stiletto was discussed in detail here: http://myArmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=39080&highlight=
More discussion of scabbard design and carry methods in second half of this thread: http://myArmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t=36353&highlight=
NOTE: in the old threads you may see pictures of this stiletto with wire wrapped handle, but since then I replaced wire wrap with black ray skin! The pictures attached to this thread represent the stiletto as it looks now!
Asking price $100 (including delivery in continental US).
Preferred payment method is by PayPal.
If you are interested, feel free to ask any questions.
