Available now are 3 long out of production battle axes from museum replicas. Going by order of individual pictures: The first one was listed as the "Axe of Robert The Bruce". First appeared around catalog #14 in the later 80s and was gone by about catalog #19 or so. It was a short run made by Chris Poor I think of Arms and Armor fame....it's certainly not a Windlass. Light, sturdy and easy to weild. 6 1/2" edge, 4 5/8" wide 2 lbs 2 oz.
Next up is what they called a Crusader Axe and is a good example of the type that would have been used for most of the classic crusading period. This axe first appeared in catalog 23 and was around for several more catalogs. Extremely light and fast, this one is a real pleasure to weild. 11" edge, 6 7/8" wide with a 24" shaft. Comes in at 1 3/4lbs.
Finally the rarest and oldest of the 3 is "The Battle Troll". Debuting in catalog #2 it was gone by catalog #5. Stamp on the underside reads MRL 1987. As you can see this is a real beast. 11" edge, 8" wide with 3 1/2lbs weight. It does come with about a 24" shaft it really needs something at least Danish War Axe length of 48" or better for proper handling.
$110 each with $10 shipping conus or maybe make a deal on multiples.
