This is a rare 1991 edition hardcover version of Oakeshott's Records of the Medieval Sword. If you don't know the book, it's full of pictures and stats on swords from Oakeshott's typology, plus some swords that fall outside his system. In this sword lover's opinion, this book should be on your shelf. :) This title has been printed many times in paperback, but only once in hardcover. The paperback versions are notorious for falling apart; recent printings also sometimes have less crisp images.
Overall, this one is in fine shape. You can see some minor dust staining to the top of the page edges from being on a shelf for years. There's also a small tear at the top of the spine that doesn't affect the integrity of the binding. It could probably be fixed by slipping some acid free tape inside the top of the spine and reinforcing it from the back side.
It's hard to find these any more. In fact, I'm not aware of any other copies floating around right now for sale on the web.
