I am the second owner of this scabbard. I purchased it along with the Baron but have no real need for the scabbard. The black leather at the top of the scabbard can be undone and its purpose is as a "friendship tie" or something to that effect. Basically the situation is when you go to a Ren fair etc....they tie your sword into the scabbard, that is what that is in case you are wondering. Its a very nice scabbard with a custom chape (I believe it is custom) and fits my Baron like a glove. No wiggle and stays in snuggly even when turned upside down
