This gorgeous sallet by François L’Archeveque has a skull raised from 16 mm mild steel (so will therefore be thicker due to raising), with a riveted tail. This form can be seen in both period art and some extant examples.
One of the photos below shows the internal dimensions before François installed a hand-made padded liner. The unlined circumference is 25 3/4 inches, or about 65 cm. With the liner now installed, this should fit a head from about 22 to 23 inches, or 56 to 59 cm – or possibly more – depending on the exact lineal dimensions of your head, whether you use an arming cap or ‘German’ scarf, and so on.
This piece is located in New Zealand, and will ship via NZ Post’s Airmail at cost with full insurance. (The online calculator suggests cost to the US, for example, would be about US$65.) International Courier service, which also includes tracking, is also available.
Price is US$1100.
