This is a model 1866, and an example of the type used in the Franco-Prussian war. It's in generally good condition, the blade is bright and clean with some damage to the edge. Grip and hilt components are solid and the catch for the bayonet lug works as it should. Comes with the original scabbard with matching serial number H 20783. The spine reads "Mre Impale de St Etienne Août 1868", or the Imperial manufactory of st Etienne, August 1868.
