I recently purchased this seax by UK master weaponsmith Paul-Binns from a retiring re-enactor who has had it in his possession for some 10 years but unfortunately I'm now having to part with due to a broken boiler that needs imminent repair...
The blade is blunt and appears to have never been sharped, I am resisting the temptation to do so as this fine blade is crying out to have some life breathed into it in my opinion.
- Blade length is just shy of some 9 inches/approx 220mm
- Overall length 14 inches/360mm
- Hefty back at 8mm thickness its a chunky thing though well balanced
- 38mm/3.8cm width at its highest point.
Comes with a scabbard that does the job with a single suspension hangar on it, but in my opinion this blade deserves something a little more ornate and a serious collector would probably want to re-sheaf it.
Looking for £199/250 euros.
Prefer UK based buyers for postage/general communication but will consider shipping to EU/USA.
Any questions I'll try to answer as best I can with my limited experience!
