Looking to sells this as a group in the Continental US to hold my shipping cost down (I will cover the shipping and handling). The kit represents a research but abortive start at building a proper 15th century plate kit that I undertook some time ago. I've come to realize after moving, after some major medical events, and with some more moves pending, that I've lost interest in the project. That being the case I need to get lighter (on the possessions front) so I can relocate for career in the not to distant future.
About the gear.
The armor is properly shaped and fits very well, unlike much of the stuff made stateside that I've tried over the last few years unless you go REALLY expensive. It sits on the hips instead of just hanging from the shoulders, is shaped and the edges are neatly rolled. Its basically a custom armor core. Pics show it well and if you have an eye you'll see some quality. Its not heat treated but it could be if the strapping was removed.
The arming gear is top quality. I've had kit from Revival, HE and others. Matuls is just very extremely well done base kit. All eyelets are reinforced with stitching and there are plenty of them. I don't have proper points for it, just laces (never got that far) which worked for testing. Linen shirt is a linen shirt. Nothing over exciting but nicely period. Both have been tried on several times but not worn for any kind of extend interval by anything other than my home-made stand.
Same is true for the Revival hose. Would have loved to do wool but wool and I just do not get along well, so cotton it is. They have been tried on and then spent time sitting in the closet. Could use a good ironing to remove wrinkles. They do have proper points.
Sizing for all this stuff was for me at 6'1" and about 210 pounds +/-. Figure a ballpark of 46 chest and perhaps 38 waist at the time. Basically I'm medium build. All the kit has got a fair bit of ability to work up or down size wise. Modern clothes usually go large and sometimes XL for me (for reference).
All of this stuff is unused and top quality. It really needs to go to somebody who will do more with it than sit it in a corner (although it nice sitting in a corner...even my wife says its a great manly decorator item).
When buying this kind of quality you normally get to wait quite a while to get it. I figure I have just a bit over $1500 invested in this kit right now. I'm not looking to give it away but I will send it to you (and I will cover the shipping cost) right now for $1395 (which is going to save you some scratch in addition to saving time). I will consider offers and trades as there are odds and ends that might be interesting (but I'm not specifically looking for anything).
Photos coming...
Not the greatest photos but should work fro a first pass.
Will add more when I have better light of if I get requests for details.
