For a little over five years I had the incredible good fortune to work with Mike at Albion. In that time Mike and I became more than just colleagues, we became friends and that friendship grew to include his wife Bonnie, one of the most kind-hearted people I have ever known. As you know, Mike and Bonnie are going through a rough patch and, although I'm not out in Wisconsin anymore to lend a hand, there is something I can do.
So here's the deal. I am selling an Albion Oakeshott with a dark brown grip. The sword has never been out of the box except for me to look over when I first got it. Stats are:
Overall length: 40.25" (102 cm)
Blade length: 33.75" (85.73 cm)
Blade width: 2" (5 cm)
CoG: 4.375" (11 cm)
CoP: 22.25" (56.5 cm)
Weight: 2 lbs 8.2 oz (1.14 kg)
Pictures can be seen on the Albion website here, http://albion-swords.com/swords/albion/nextge...ott-xa.htm
Asking price is $1000 and all proceeds go to Mike and Bonnie. I'll cover the shipping to wherever. Paypal to me, check or money order. Contact by PM.
This is one of the most unique and beautiful swords that Albion makes. The hollow grinding sets it apart aesthetically and the handling is deceiving given the length of the blade. This a chance to own a truly outstanding sword and do something good for a couple of people who really deserve it.
I have received a PM from a myArmoury member concerning the sale of the Oakeshott.
""[I] will donate $100.00 to the Sigmans when this sword is purchased. I am doing this to encourage others, Mike is a friend."
The sword has been sold.
