This one is a custom project drawing on a less often seen Cluny sword for inspiration. It is not intended to be an exact copy of the sword; the engraving on the original would break my toy fund by themselves. It is intended to be a fine sword fit for at least minor nobility. It is also intended to be period accurate enough to pass muster for reenactment.
The reproduction sword itself has a bold and defined ridge down the blade which is very seldom seen in modern reproductions but does echo the original. This gives it a very distinct appearance. Its grip is dark, to me black, horn. Again, something not that often seen in modern reproductions and something that is very distinct. The gently downward curving guard is faceted with eight sides. Its is very neatly executed. The sword is finished with a fish tail pommel that makes the whole thing very eye catching.
It also comes with a matching wood cored scabbard and suspension. The suspension uses nice buckles and a split belt that should be period appropriate.
This one is not one I planned to let go of but we're moving and my space is changing significantly. The project took over two years to reach completion and it was not cheap to have it done. Photos are attached.
I'm asking $1595 and I will cover shipping in the continental US.

I might be willing to consider partial trades but I am looking to pull some capital out of this transaction so I'm not likely to go for a straight up trade unless you have something as unique and fascinating as this piece is. Even then a full on trade is probably a stretch.
Guess now I'm asking $1519 and I will cover shipping in the continental US.

The others really did stink...much better light for these!
This sword really is something special. Its a real looker, its different, and fish tail pommels just work better on single hand swords than on long-swords, in my opinion, based on my experience *handling* various models of both kinds.

Grip and pommel...notice how much is going on there. Nice shot of buckles too. They are not just plain pieces of furniture.

Variation of same idea. Sword in scabbard.

Different angle.

Bit of a teaser for the blade!
It strikes me that about now this thread is becoming a great example of why good quality photos matter.

Bare blade again. That bold ridge is just wild and makes the whole package stiff, stiff, stiff. I also suspect it makes it all strong, strong, strong. Weight is still nice.

More blade-age!

New angle on it all.

Blade is sharp. Sword belt was made for me so a 38 waist with significant play in either direction. I'm in the exact middle hole and there is room to punch more in addition to those already punched in either direction.
