Offered for sale This lovely Seax by a German master bladesmith.

Delicate Pattern welded blade, with composite Bone grip with black horn ferrules at each end. Viking design carved into grip.

Scabbard is Gotlandic With Brass and Silver metalwork decorated in delicate punch work.

13 Belt mounts, strapend and buckle plate and buckle in Borre style, cast bronze.

Overall length, 346mm (13 5/8"), Blade length 221mm (@8 3/4"), Width at Shoulders 27mm, (1 1/16").

Blade thickness at shoulders 5mm (3/16") with distal taper.

Length of belt, from tip of strapend to tip of buckle loop, 1406mm ( 55 3/8")

One belt mount is missing, and there is a slight scuff on the outer scabbard leather.

A serious collectors piece and is offered for sale to finance an upcoming project.
