MORNING STAR FLAIL HX2142
The Morning Star Flail is surprisingly easy to handle, due to the relatively light weight of its composite steel-cased ball. The steel shaft incorporates a leather-wrapped grip and wrist and saddle thong.
The Spiked Flail in History
The flail was originally an agricultural instrument used for threshing grain. However, when impromptu use showed how effective it was, it was quickly adopted as a weapon of war. Soon the standard flail was replaced with flails designed specifically for warfare. The spiked flail was quite popular, but soon someone got the idea of using two smaller spiked balls with two chains, to increase its effectiveness.
The flail later came into wide use during the Middle Ages throughout Medieval Europe as a popular weapon of choice among knights and warriors. The spiked ball heads and relatively light weight handle made this an easy to use but highly effective weapon against the enemy. A formidable hand-to-hand combat weapon in Medieval times, capable of smashing even the heaviest plate armor when wielded by a mounted knight.
