A nice antique Pattern 1821 Light Cavalry Officer's Sword c.1840. The 35 inch blade is etched on either side with foliage and VR cyphers. There is no maker name, unfortunately. The transition from the pipeback to the false edge (yelman) is quite nicely done, and is reminiscent of earlier examples I have seen. The stepped pommel is still somewhat elongated compared to its later Victorian bretheren. The fishskin grip has some losses and still has its copper (?) wire fully intact. Blade: 35 3/8” Overall: 40 ½” Weight: 1 lb. 12 oz.
$700.00 plus $30 for shipping (CONUS). PayPal accepted and preferred (add 3% for PayPal fees if paying with a credit card or electronic check), but other forms of payment are also accepted. I ship via USPS priority mail with insurance.
