Up for sale is this French-style naval boarding cutlass. It resembles the famous pattern first produced during the Napoleonic Wars and the War of 1812. Since acquiring this, I have done a small amount of reading and evidently these were manufactured throughout the 19th century, in many slightly different forms, for export to multiple nations. I believe this one to be old, but how old I cannot say. There is a heavily encrusted gloss black paint on the handle/ guard which is flaking in places. There is no engraving to indicate origin or dates to indicate age.
Blade is approx. 27” long. Handle is 5 ½” from hilt to nut.
Asking US$335 OBO, shipped insured anywhere in continental US.
I will send abroad, but buyer to pay shipping in that case.
Paypal works for me. No extra 3%. The price you see is the price you pay.
PM if interested.
Thanks.
Price drop to US$290, until the end of the holidays.
:)
