This custom piece from A&A would conceivably span a fairly long period. It’s light and lively in the hand.

Stats:
Blade length: Approx. 33 ¾ inches / 85.7 cm
Overall length: 40 1/8 inches / 120 cm
Cross: 8 3/8 inches / 21 cm
Blade width: 1 11/16 inches / 4.5 cm

The piece comes with an A&A heavy leather scabbard (not pictured below).

The grip is a handsome mottled brown/black. The pics below are slightly washed out - both the grip leather and the bronze fittings really pop in person.

This piece is located in New Zealand, and will ship at cost with full insurance (which is quite reasonable, and very reliable).

Price is US$700 for sword and scabbard.

A couple of people from the US have (understandably) asked some questions about the cost and reliability of purchasing swords from New Zealand.

The last few longswords I've sent have come in at about US$90-100, which is via NZ Post International Courier, tracked and fully insured. Expected delivery time is 2-6 days, and have usually been well within this.
