I am looking to acquire a 1913 Patton saber for my personal collection. Either an Officer's or Trooper's model.
I am not a millionaire, so I'm not looking to buy the saber that General patton slept with every night.
I prefer an original but will consider a reproduction so long as it is good quality and the price tag reflects that it's a reproduction and not an original.
Thanks

2 questions.
One, do you care if it has a scabbard or not?
Two, is there a price range you are looking at?

I would prefer to have a scabbard but I am more interested in the sword itself. Unless the sword and its scabbard had matching serial numbers, which I don't think was the case, I can always go on the hunt for a scabbard.
As to price range that would depend a great deal on the saber itself, such as condition, whether it's a trooper model or officer model and that sort of thing. I am reluctant to set a top dollar figure as I'm afraid someone will see it and then say oh what a coincidence I have a Patton sabre and its exactly X dollars. I think it best if someone presents a series of detailed photos of the weapon, provides me with a private email address, then in private names an asking price and we can go from there.
Hope that helps and thanks for your reply.
Best regards
Brian
