unfortunately, circumstances in life never stay the same and I have to part with several precious items from my collection. One of them is a unique custom build katana, named Senso no Kami. It is an awesome piece, created by the respectable Salvatori Moretto several years ago. This katana uses Hanwei Kami as a base and upgrades from there, with a very unusual yet trilling koshirae. The overall aesthetics are memorable!
Sword is as pristine as I received it once upon a time. Never cut with, still razor sharp and unworn. Hada is strong, and hamon/hira/shinogi contrast is really pronounced and good looking. Steel is Swedish powdered K120C with traditional clay tempering. Very sleek and scary blade, in the same time feels light in hand. Tsuba, fuchi and kabutogane are iron, menuki are golden cranes as far as I can tell, full wrap rayskin beneath the unusual silk under the tsukamaki. Nice silk bag for keeping katana pristine while on the move.
Iíve swung it only once or twice. Tachi-kaze is loud and clear. There is a beautiful Kami engraving into the blade. I am condifent I can cut through a lot with it, although never tried for number of reasons.
Iím asking 1100 Euro shipped in European Union, which is less than what I originally paid with overseas shipping, insurance and these ridiculous custom fees. It is a fair price IMO, considering Senso no Kami is unique in so many ways itís hard to replicate and Salvatori is no longer assembling swords as far as I know. MRSP of Hanwei (always!) out of stock ordinary Kami is $2000 and thatís before the custom work, plus that always costly arrival into EU. But if you think differently, feel free to drop me a line. I am prepared to ship overseas if no buyer from EU contacts me.
Sorry for the low quality pictures! Iím using my phoneís camera, which is not great in artificial lighting and for several days the weather outside is rainy, so I canít do much moreÖ If everyone is interested in particular sword detail, Iíll try my best to take better pictures. Please write me a PM.
