Introducing... The Ringeck
Due to customer requests, Peter and Eric decided to produce the Ringeck with a waisted grip, in place of the straight tapered grip originally pictured in the concept drawing.

I think it adds a lot to the looks and feel of the sword. We may also add a half-wire wrap option to this sword as well.

Best,

I like it. It's kind of like the Mercenary's taller, thinner brother. :)
Wonderful work guys. Every time I see one of your designs in steel it's always better then the concept drawings. Well I'm sold, now to get the deposit together :D
Ringeck sword
That is a nice looking sword. Going with the waisted grip was a sound decision in my opinion.
On an otherwise miserable day of foodborne illness and its various symptoms preventing me from studying for the two important finals I have tomorrow, the announcement that my nearly 2-year long pre-order wait is basically over is extremely welcome.

I'm liking the grip, as well. Can't wait to get mine.

:)
:\ Hrm, I rather liked the straight grip of the original sketch over the waisted grip it has now. To my eye, now it looks just like the Fiore, only with a type T pommel instead of the type J. The straight grip is what sold the Ringeck over the Fiore for me. Now, it looks, I don't know, fragile to me. I'm thoroughly non-plussed over that grip. I'd been saving up for this one, but now I'm not so sure.

Would it be possible to get the Ringeck with the straight grip rather than with the waisted grip?

We can do that.

Best,

Howy
I agree.
Howie

got to agree with Jonathan. i was waiting on this sword. i much prefer the straight grip. never the less its a beautiful sword, and give everyone at Albion a hail and hardy congratulations on a truely wonderful job.

Mike
Nice to see this one out.

Though I did like the concept drawing better than the actual sword
( I'll agree with Jonathan and Michael on the grip, and the pommel somehow does not suit my taste )
now I can finally be sure that the Talhoffer is my favorite XVa. And it's in stock with Soeren, too. Hmm...

;)
Very nice work Howie! I also like how you offer either a wasted or tapered grip with no difference in price. ;) We all have our different preferences. There have been quite a few Albion swords that are finally in production lately! (Munich, Fiore, and now the Ringeck. Am I forgetting one?)

I agree - excellent decision, Howie.

Tru dat! I'm right there with you on that one. Good things come to those who wait! I like the grip change, I think it was for the better.

Don't forget the Meyer, for your practical WMA needs! ;)
Howie, could you show us a picture of the tapered grip? I think all of the pictures shown are of the waisted grip, am I right?

Anyway, expect an email from me maybe at the end of the summer from a poor highschool student who thinks he just found his next dream sword! Then I'll own a whole 2 albions  ! Soon the whole world will cower as I purchase the entire collection and make albion really really rich ;)

Anyways, enough megolomania from me

Well today was a wonderful day as I finally got my Ringeck that I preordered over 2 years ago. I am so absolutely thrilled as it completely exceeded my expectations, which I didn't think could be done since I've handled almost all of their swords at the Atlanta Blade Show. I don't know how they do it, but they do.

However, that's not surprising. The real productive reason for me posting this is that I got mine with a tapered grip and a picture was never posted, so I'd be happy to show you some of mine. I must say, I really love the tapered grip and I'm glad I got it over the waisted, though that looks nice too.

The photos are from my phone so they're nothing special, but I think you can see what's going on pretty well.

FYI: grip color is "red," which turned out perfectly.

I'm only attaching a few pictures of the hilt since there are wonderful pictures of the entire sword on Albion's page already. Let me know if you'd wanna see a whole sword shot, though, since I suppose the grip really does change the look of the entire thing.

Joey,

I prefer the tapered grip as well so thanks for showing it to us!

Nice sword!!
Congrats on the sword, Bro!!! It has a good home with you. The Grip color and style is very nice. I'm excited to see this thing put in action when we get a cutting day set up.
Cheers,
Jonathan.
Not the Ringeck but the brother Fiore, I like the wasted (Fiore) and the tapered (Crecy) grip.
I must admit these Va swords handle great.
