French Knight figurines - completed pics
hi everyone...

Here are a couple figures recently completed and both are 54mm scale white metal.

The first one is from P.M. MODEL and is entitled "Cavaliere Francese Crociato Sec.XII". The kit's great helm was kind of disfigured looking so it was replaced with one from Pegaso's assorted helmets package. Lead foil was added for the strap used to sling the shield from the shoulder and the spear shaft was replaced with a brass rod. The heraldry on the shield is a decal created from my computer/printer.

The second figure is from PEGASO - French Knight 1415. An excellently sculptured figure, but the spurs were kind of chunky, so a photo-etch set of western spurs from NIMIX fixed that. The ermine pattern is created from individual decals, again from the computer/printer.
I have more pictures posted at the FinescaleModeler website:

Thanks for stopping by,

Jack
Nice work! The fellow on the left happens to be a direct ancestor of mine, on my mother's side... kinda cool! First time I have seen that crest, it seems to have changed over time.
Hello Torsten, glad you like them. I choose the crest from this website:

There are several listings for Beaumont and different coat of arms depending on the first name.

Very nice! Is that freehand on the shield?
Hi Tim - the lion on the shield was an image downloaded from the net. Using corel photo-paint, I cleaned it up and changed the colours. It was then printed onto inkjet water-slide decal paper and then applied to the shield.
Okay you need to not be doing this. :) I was into model airplanes once upon a time, combine that with this medieval hobby and... okay I do NOT need something else to spend money on... :p
Great work Jack. I especially like the detail work on the right-hand figure.
Very nice work Jack.

Here is a picture of a knight i made 20 years ago (from a Napoleon's hussar kit !!!). It is plastic 54 mm.
Don't look for any historical accuracy as this was not my concern at the time !
I had no idea whose coat of arms this was.

Hello Jean...
That is a very commendable job of scratchbuilding your own mounted knight. Except for those 'comma' symbols, I'd say the heraldry is exactly the same as the Beaumont knight I have here.
Thanks all for the comments and views.
Oh, and Russ - maybe you can trade in your wife so you have more funds for your hobbies? lol! just kiddin.
