My Seax...

It is finished at last!

My seax is based loosly on north european bogfinds from late roman times and early dark age...
I have grinded out the blade by hand (and a little help of mashines) and made all the furnitures with a small axe and a small knife mady by my sister... Yepp I like it the hard way!

How did you fasten the handle to the tang? Burning? Glue/resin???

With resin... it´s made prety much like a scabbard but with the tang curved it sitts there nice and snug.

It is in the proses of being antiqued right now but I will post specs tomorrow and a few new photos...

As promised along time ago I have updated the pics and here is the specs on the Seax!

Blade Length: 365mm
Blade with: 38mm
Blade thickness: 3mm
Total Length: 500mm
Weight: Aprox 400g
Point of balance: 270mm from the point.
