The comments made about the sword on its museum tag are quite interesting.
My word, Manouchehr! That's an incredible book you've written! I am very interested in the armour of the Achaemenians and Sassanians, myself.

Thank you very much James. I really appreciate it. I worked a lot on this project and many scholars in Iran and outside have contributed and helped me in this huge research project.

Ladies and gentlemen,
Let us see some excellent Chinese daos before I post more European pieces. Look at these marvellous daos. They are described as court sabers one of them attributed to 1820-1830 and the other with inscriptions is attributed to 1736-1795. I inverted the colors to be able to read the inscriptions. Could someone read it?
There is also one Bhutanese sword described as Sino Tibetan here as you see.
All comments are appreciated.
Kind regards

Manouchehr

Great pictures Manouchehr, thanks for sharing them with us. :)

I worder if the Musee de L'Armee has an illustrated catalogue, because if they do, I want it!

I guess I'll just have to drag the wife and kids to Paris one weekend.

Hi Hisham,

You are welcome my friend. THis is truly one of the best arms and armor museums in Europe and the States I have attended. I truly recommend it. They have some publications but only selected pieces. Seeing these items in front of you is the best thing, truly a wonderful experience.

Kind regards

Manouchehr
Hisham,

I think you will like the following. Ottoman turban helmets from 1450-1520.
