Looking for info on this falchion - stats and other pics
Browsing through the net i found a couple of pics of an interesting falchion.

I couldn't however find any information about it, blade thickness, distal taper, lenght of its components, widths etc.

What is the date and location of this blade? It is cool looking.

That is what I would like to know myself ... I woudl say XIV - XV century, because of the cross that is pretty arranged.

Also proportions are well cared for (I'm planning to print down the image and study them).

Distal taper and blade geometry would be extremely interesting to know.

A bit too cool perhaps.

A swordmaker PMd me raising some doubts about its auhenicity, telling that it was just a sensation.

Double edged (there is this myth of double edged falchions that was never proved: this would be an important finding), so too good to be true if not coming from a certain source: it might be a fake made to appease customers fond of this idea.

After that I noticed that there is a crater on the blade, a pitting round crater: what is strange is that burnishing fills also the crater's surface, showing that burnishing happened after the rusting of the piece.

Beside this crater, there are no other important signs of pitting on the blade, which is strange too.

On the lower part of the pommel there is a black stain, which seems consistent with the burnishing color.

What is doing there?

Is the burnishing not a burnishing but just a coat of some black substance?

The final touch of a faker, possibly.
Seems like the blade was honed a lot, too.

To my unexperienced eyes it looks like a fake.
