Fighting Man Standard
Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone had a drawing or picture of what king Harold's personal standard 'the fighting man' looked like?

Thanks,
James
As I'm sure you know, period sources state that Harold flew two banners at Hastings: his personal standard of the Fighting Man and the Dragon of Wessex. The Dragon standard is shown on the Bayeaux Tapestry and appears to be a form of wind sock. Unfortunately the Fighting Man standard is not shown and I know of no period sources that clearly describe it. If there is one I'd like to know about it too.
Yes, I knew about the two standards but as you say I don't know of any sources that show his personal standard, I guess I'm not the only one left clueless here.
