To make a really long story short, Peter began emailing me progress pictures of my sword a few weeks ago and its near completion at this point.
The design is something Peter and i aggreed upon and is inspired heavily but the Lord of the Rings movie swords.
All work on this sword is done by Peter by hand except for the leather coverings of the grip and scabbard which are done by the same gentleman that did them for the movies.........
This sword is as close as you can get to a LoTR movie sword, short of owning a prop........The design is VERY close to several of the main heros swords and really looks like it COULD have been in the film....

Progress shot of finished guard mounted on blade.
Notice the deep hollow grinds of the blade...

carved handle wood core assembled on tang for fitting.

assembled sword in scabbard prior to finishing and leather covering.

a funny picture that Peter made showing the sharpness of the blade by shaving a sheet of paper. YES this thing is sharp!

The leather covered and dyed handle prior to fittings.

The fully polished and assembled hilt....... Before peening

Another shot of the assembled, but not peened, hilt.
