I have from my collection two Japanese police daggers/swords from the mid 18th century with metal scabbards.

I also have one US Civil War era small sword. The button on the inside of the clam shell guard is missing so the guard does not stay open.

Price on the long Japanese police dagger is $75
Price on the short Japanese police dagger is $50
Price on the short sword is $175

It is an original mid 1860's short or small sword. I want to say it is from the Ames Sword Co. but I am not sure about that.
