This is a large German book tracing the development of European war headgear from the bronze age through the 20th century, showcasing items from collections of the Museum of German History. The book is quite large, weighing nearly 4 pounds; it's over 300 pages, and is 12" tall x 9.5" wide x ~1.25" thick. The text is in German, but around 140 pages of the book show nothing but high-quality color and B&W photos. The rest of the text is well illustrated with period illustrations and line drawings. Shown below is just a little bit of what in the book. It covers headgear (helms and some hats) of every century since the Bronze Age, including the last one.

The book is ex-library from a German library. It bears the library's stamp on the bottom of the cover page and a place where the checkout card was stored on a previous page. The dust jacket has been permanently attached with contact paper. The book itself is in really nice shape, especially considering it's a library copy. Recent Ebay auctions have seen this book go for $85 to over a $100, plus $20 shipping from Germany. I can post pics of the book later if needed.
