Polish knives - szabla's
Hi

Just wandering if any people had pics of knives from Poland from between 1600- 1700? Any sabres from that period are of interest too!

Ive seen nice ones here allready.

Here is one to look for:

"Ciecia Prawdziwa Szabla" by Wojciech Zablocki 1989
Publisher Wydawnictwo "Sport i Turystyka" Warszawa

A customer sent us photocopies of the book for reference while making a couple of szablas for him awhile back
The book examines the evolution of the Sabre there from it 's earliest use up to late 18th Century. Takes in Hungarian as well as Polish as they both used these.

Attached in one of the szablas we made for him. It's Hungarian but it's not easy to tell them apart from the Polish.

Hi

Thanks for the links and stuff! I have read that article on the hussars too. I tell you what its hard to find any good knife pics though? I wonder if there knives were off Ottoman influence or western european? I am leaning towards the eastern style knives due to there love for eastern weaponry/costume, but thats not enough to base a conclusion on.

Thanks again

Nick
