A good pole arm reference?
I have not read this in detail yet, but at a skim it looks like it contains some interesting information.

Snook, George (1925). The Halberd and Other European Polearms, 1300-1650. Retrieved August 11, 2006 from http://virtuatheque.free.fr/The%20Halberd%20a...learms.pdf
It's OK, but only because there just isn't much else out there. Waldman's book is now the best reference, and is very good even alongside other arms & armour classics.
Good to know, but after a bit of Amazoning, I'll be very surprised if Waldman is in the local library, and this one was much more free.
That is available right on myArmoury's bookstore:

One copy is available now for about $9.00.
It is a pretty decent reference. It has few words for most major pole weapons, and it takes about 35min to read completely. While it will not substitute for Waldman's book, it is an excellent starter, especially considering its price. I would have liked to see more dates on the weapons shown, as well as times of use discussed for more than the halberd, but it is still a very good book considering what else is out there (read...almost nothing).

I suggest this :
LE ARMI IN ASTA DELLE FANTERIE EUROPEE (1000 - 1500).
M.Troso.
in italian book , the best book about pole arms in Italy , Germany and Swiss.
Sure !

Though the Gods know how much I tried to get it, in vain..........

So if you have any hint of how I could put my greedy hands on it ... :)
